Hard to believe that I’m writing about season FIVE of Sons of Anarchy, but here I am.
Kurt Sutter revealed on his blog the other day that all of the actors have new contracts and things are hopping in the writer’s room. They’ve got some of the big story arcs loosely laid out and some new characters loosely defined.
As for the new characters: “One is Damon Pope, who’s daughter Tig killed at the end of season 4.” The introduction of this character is not a surprise, since his name was dropped at the end of last season.
Sutter vaguely teases about the other three:
- One wears a patch we’ve never seen.
- One is hard, curvy and very sexy.
- One packs a platinum .45 with a walrus tusk handle, he’s incredibly dangerous, but really, he just wants to be loved.
Given some of the other crazy characters we’ve seen on the show in the past, like oh say…Stephen King as The Cleaner, even just a tease of these new characters already has me eager for the new season.

The new season begins shooting in mid-May and given the schedule of the past seasons we can expect the show to return with all-new episodes in September.
