4-year old Indian Girl riding a motorcycle

This is kind of up there with the smoking baby…

Dad is clearly teaching this little four year old girl how to handle a motorcycle, and she is laying on that throttle. No helmet. Wearing shorts. Weaving through traffic on the streets of India. At least she is wearing eye protection, not to mention the biggest sh*t-eating grin ever!

What do you think? Disturbing or kinda cool?

Part of me wants to say this is cool and part of me wants to kick his ass. I think he’s probably got a lot more control of it and can handle the bike if needed to. Helmet laws in some parts of India is just a suggestion.

it’s a little of both. she’s def been doing it a while. I was riding this age but not like that!!

Disturbing. Yay for wanting to teach his daughter to ride, but her feet should at least be able to reach all of the controls not to mention the ground. It’s not the age that bugs me, but the size. If she were on a little motorcycle that fit her that would be different. Just my two cents.

Matte black is best, forget the sheen! Never rode this way before. Will give it a try.

    Disturbing, and here’s why:
    1. Riding without a helmet is simply a bad idea.
    2. Not a proper sized bike and she can accel/decel but not really control it.
    3. Not a proper scenario… right in the middle of city traffic.

Sorry, but that video just didn’t impress me one way or another. Only 2 things really stand out for me

    1. Where’s the traffic? If you’d been to India you’d know that traffic is equivalent to a deserted back road.

    2. There’s only 2 people on the bike.

I spent 6 years living in Indonesia and have seen a lot worse things than that. One of my favorite sayings then was “Family of 5…one motorbike….No problem”

One of the statistics I’m aware of for an island in Indonesia with a population of 700,000 is that there were an average of 700 motorbike fatalities a year. That’s just under 2 a day. Compare that to your own city and you’ll get a better idea of what it’s like in these countries. As far as children riding it’s not at all uncommon to see elementary students riding scooters to and from school, especially in the more rural areas.
