After being completely passed over for the Emmys last year, Katey Sagal (our favorite badass matriarch of Sons of Anarchy) became a bit of an underdog. So, when the nomination was announced for the Golden Globes, she became our favorite underdog that we all roared and cheered loudly for.

Last night she won a Golden Globe for Best Lead Actress in a drama series and a collective cheer went out from the motorcycle community, not to mention that Twitter went ablaze with hoots and congrats to her and to her husband, series creator Kurt Sutter. After the award was received, Sutter tweeted “Fuck me!!!!! We won. Back stage with GG award winner Katey Sagal.”
Katey looked svelt and curvy in that gorgeous orange dress, that complemented her dark tresses. She was a welcome standout in the sea of green dresses that so many other actresses wore.
Now one has to wonder if this is the foot in the door for Sons of Anarchy to be recognized by other award shows, as it so duly deserves.
