What a shame. Managed a little better, they could have gone on for a long time yet. But I think the author of this post is right – they lost is when they lost Vinnie (for the same reasons). It became about bickering and not about bikes.

The bikes were all about mild steel and bondo to hide the sins– covered by some great paint. And, I winced every time they brought out one of those stepped drill bits to gnaw a ragged hole through something. Ick. But, I did watch many episodes.

I haven’t watched the show in ages, but it did get me into motorcycles (I now own 3) and got me back into welding.

When I think back on AC, I choose to remember the day that I was inspired to pick up a welding torch again.

And I agree with Mrs Road Captain…Long live V-Force!

Personally, it got kind of sad to watch. The whole family dynamic broke down, and after a while, it was just uncomfortable to be there. Seeing Paul Jr. designing dog toys or whatever is just wasted talent. True, you have to be happy doing what you do, but the real issue is that all parties involved could have done better in working things out. Seems like a trend lately with television families, yes?

Every respect to Paul Sr for his work ethic, and for trying to keep childish egos in check. He’s clearly no saint nor anyone’s fool. Despite the fights, on analysis, he’s usually bang on the button. Shame the kids couldn’t handle it.
