NOTE TO RACHEL: YOUR ARTICLE IS POSTED IN THE EHOW WEBSITE TELLING PEOPLE "HOW TO DRESS AS A BIKER CHICK"

When I read the article I thought to myself: But my old man would have a fit if I walked out wearing all skin and skimpy clothes. One thing he always mentions to me is that the women that wear that kind of "customes" tend to be 1. groupies, road SLUTS, simply put: Biker HOs. I LEARNED to ride myself because I LOVE the wind. 2. Most times chicks dressed like the article described? they're posers looking for attention. 3. They've likely got no old man/ or have one that's not serious about them. I don't know of many men that would purposely put their woman in line to be catcalled. You don't fuck with a bikers RIDE or his WOMAN, so now why would he want her attracting the attention? Being tough doesn't require tattoos, though I hear some people crying all the time about it. Mine took 6 hours straight I must be a tough one. Having a desire to express yourself and getting one is different. MY tats are a huge Dragon with tarot symbols to represent ME (though I did get the heart with swords TAROT symbol...but that's got MEANING to me), plus NON-thorny flowers representing my family. I wish someone had sent out a MEMO on the subject I would've tried harder. 4. I HATE bleached hair, I prefer my curly black one.

I realize this is an older post but I still wanted to respond--and apologize. I'm the author of the offending article discussed here; in all fairness, I wrote it for an SEO company to make some money. The company I worked for asked for short articles on a wide variety of subjects, so of course most of them are vague summaries...I would never claim to be an "expert" on any of it, honestly. But that doesn't change how bad this article really is. I can't begin to express the cringe-factor of an article dealing in such blatant stereotypes, and even more so for the person who wrote it. I'm admittedly an outsider to the subject and I should have taken a more sensitive, not to mention researched, approach to it. Once again, I apologize and have removed the article from the Ezine database. Any other offenders there while we're at it?

Definitely words from 'one who does not know', therefore such media serves to disrespect. As an outsider, she has probably commented on the fact that 'female bikers' are passengers more so than riders in their own right. Of passengers there are 'wannabe's' and they make up a small proportion and are not around for long. I wonder which 'select society' she will write about next - eskimo chick fashion? Should be interesting now that everything is warming up!

Being Asian, the bleached blonde thing just doesn't work for me. Good thing I don't ride much these days because I'm apparently just not with the program with my natural nails and non-approved subject matter for my tattoos. Check out our "expert's" other articles, how could anyone be an "expert" on all o' that??

Ugh. I can't even comment on the content - you are way to nice!
But yes, Ezine is so lame - it's a community of people who decide to obsessively try to become 'experts' in something by writing a lot of really bad drivel. Someone is considered an 'expert' if you turn in 10 articles that somehow match the site's formatting criteria, then hope and pray that the article will show up on all the search engines and the writer becomes famous.
