Smooth riding with a new machine

Well, I did get myself a new machine but it’s a different kind of machine then most people would get excited about. While it’s not a super-pimped out touring bike or a sweet-ass custom bobber, it is the equivalent in a laptop.

Last week I bit the bullet and got myself a 17″ MacBook Pro, which is like the Lexus of Macs. And it was delivered yesterday! Last night was like Christmas in my house. I stayed up way past my bedtime.

Now I have no excuse when I’m on the road! I’ll be able to post more regularly while I’m out shaking my money-maker.

    Is it your first Mac?

No, I actually have a Mac mini and I use a Mac at work, but this is my first laptop and I figured if I was going to break down and spend the money on an MBP then I might as well go for it and get the 17″. I very rarely spend lavishly on myself and this one particular purchase makes me giddy (if you couldn’t tell)!

  3. I ordered a dell Studio 17 a few days ago. It is supposed to be delivered sometime around the day I get home from Afghanistan. I am really looking forward to it. The motherboard went out on the compaq I was using a few weeks ago.
I have thought about a Mac but because of the price/power ratio I have never saw the Mac as a economical substitute for a comparable PC laptop.

Very nice indeed! Are you running Parallels on it?

I can relate to your excitement over your new machine. I got one last week too. It is a Palm Treo 800w. I have never been real good with phones, but this is a pocket PC running Windows Mobile 6.1 with Office and everything, so I can relate. Now if, I can just figure out how to post to my blog on it….

Thanks and congrats to you, too! I got an iPhone for xmas (look at me with all the fancy Mac products!) and I use the hell out of it! Still not doing blog posts on it because it’s a bit cumbersome to type on it.
