There are 5 guys building old school budget bikes in South Florida, myself included. We have a little bet going on, the first one done with his build gets his weekend on the last one done. One stipulation, it HAS to be ridden the 700 miles in one day to the Smoke Out without a major problem. Flat tires and bad batteries are acceptable. Loose body parts, bad wiring, etc are not. In the event of two bikes being finished in a tie, the one with LESS money invested will win. If the winner of the build doesn't make the ride, second place moves in to top spot, and so on.
This event is open to anyone who wants to have fun. The youngest entrant is 35, I am the oldest at 45.
This is going to be on hell of a party. If you are interested in more info log on to myspace under groups
and look up Smoke Out 10 Riders or Donnie Pizza.

I am hoping to do the smoke out this year, I have missed it every year so far thanks to the military, maybe this will be it. Can't wait for my next issue of The Horse so I can read more about it.

350 miles on a chopper or bobber is a feat in my book. The smokeout is around my birthday. Sounds like a great bday gift to myself! I'm sure I'll take some razz about my geezer glide but what the hell. I'll have to work on my party skills...age has gone and screwed some of that up for me. Always have a great time watching the younger crowd gettin' it on. Keeps me from getting bitter. Thanks for post. Great rag too.

This party is not for the faint of heart or someone who feels the need to trailer their bike everywhere. These people are backyard builders who ride what they build and ride them hard.
Great party.
