I hate to see the rally go I’ve been a regular since right out of high school and it was the kick off to many summers. My 6 year old neice who was actually 3-4 at her first visit LOVED it! If possible let us know when and where the next one might be I know of the one in cherokee (NC) and of course (FL). I live in Charlotte so was the great thing about the MB rally. Their LOSS. The Rally is NOT over in Myrtle Beach.There just is`nt going to be any vendors and alot less events going on in the CITY LIMITS. Outside the city limits is where all the action takes place.SBB , Iron Gate Saloon , The Rats Hole,Broken Spoke , HB Spokes , The Beaver Bar , The Beach Monkey , Myrtle Beach H-D are all outside the city limits and will be open for our pleasure. Lets keep supporting the businesses that support us. Stay out of Myrtle Beach , dont get a room there , dont eat there , dont gas up there, dont use any ATMs there , the businesses in the CITY LIMITS did come to support us so we are not supporting them ever again.There are many biker owned and non biker owned businesses who are happy to have us come and stay . Remember its the CITY OF MYRTLE BEACH that does not want us there , everyone else is welcoming us .

I say SCREW Myrtle Beach. They do not want our money so stay away from Myrtle and spend your money some where elese. This town needs out of town money to make it. Do NOT go there to golf, familly vacations, trade shows etc. They think they have buyilt city up with other events so screw the bikers that suppoted them for 68 years, they dont need us any more, I say screw them stay away tell your friends and familly stay away. DO NOT go there for any reason. Let that town die.

For us, Outer Banks Bike Week will be the new Myrtle Beach. The town and residents are friendly and actually want you there.

I guess I’ll never support any business that pays tax to the city of Myrtle Beach.

In today’s economy, you would expect them to want the huge influx of money that a rally brings.

Of all the locations I think MB was my least favorite for Bike Week(although very close to Charlotte where I lived for a while) There is a lot of dough that bikers spend with the local business owners, so now that tax collection is down and the economy is in the tank, someone will step up and offer their hospitality to the leather clad crowd. I would not be surprised if MB asked us to come back after a year.

I agree with you FLHX_DAVE. I have “been there, done that”…and remember the days when bikers got together and enjoyed being biker…not walking street after street looking at vendor booths! If there was anything of interest for sale…it was at the swap meet…OK so I got my T-shirt…I’m done with the booths. I prefer smaller get togethers to these half million people get togethers. I say, “Good for you Myrtle Beach, for growing gonads and getting off the money teat.” Return to the small town feeling that you take such great pride in…And to the roots that make you who you are…these huge rallies are not what you are, are not what you deserve as a community, and I’m glad you’re taking your community back.

Hmmm…I think you will be seeing much more of this. Hollister is being moved outside of the city by a private company.

Guess what though! I think that we are about to witness the resurrection of the “old school” biker rally however. The days when riders just got together someplace in the middle of nowhere just to burn it off. Maybe the revolution is under way again. I’m getting tired of rally (shopping mall) days myself. I would rather go riding with the brothers and just goof.
