Video Tuesday: American IronHorse

Posted by Lizzie on March 11th, 2008

I admit this is not the most exciting video in the world, but recent news indicates that American IronHorse is a fast-sinking ship. Reports say that the company is being forced into bankruptcy to pay debts to investors. The company ceased production last month and they pretty much fired all of their employees.

But I guess we can’t write them off just yet. They do plan to sell their assets to new investors and continue with their operations. We shall see.

It would actually be a shame to see them go under. The bikes are pretty cool….

All of us in the motorcycle industry are hurting. You will see alot of these small manufacturers going out of business. They did it to them selves. At many rallies you could buy a chopper out of their truck for less then what they sold them to their dealers for! When that starts to happen its just a matter of time. -Crusty

They filed last friday March 21, will be official soon. It is sad, not for the company, they mismanaged millions of dollars and the rich just got richer there. It is sad for the hundreds of workers that got laid off and told “its temporary” and then one week turned into two weeks, two weeks turned into a month and a month has turned into three or four. Its sad for the people who loved to come in and bust their ass for little pay(lets face it, Ironhorse pay was crap) but for the love of building a bike they were/are proud of. Thats the sad part of this story, forget the others, they will go back to their mansions and figure out where they can go next and suck dry.
