A brand new year for Rippin-Kitten.com

Posted by Lizzie on January 6th, 2008

Sup dudes?!

I hope everyone had a lovely holiday season and got lots of shiny things to bolt onto their big, metal babies. Now that all of the holiday madness has passed, we cold weather climate dwellers have a nice, long stretch of months to lament the fact that it’s still too cold to ride and that spring is still months away. *sigh*

As more and more motorcycle blogs pop up onto the world wide web, posting new and interesting content becomes a bit more challenging. When I read someone else’s blog that happens to post information that I’ve written about previously, it make me wonder if the content is being pilfered or if it’s just inevitable in this small niche we’re writing about. I can honestly say that I do strive to write about unique and interesting things and promise that I shall continue to do so in 2008.

I’m looking forward to a great year. It’s already starting off with a bang for me personally because tomorrow I start a new job after being at my old one for seven and a half years. I also have some great additions in the works for rippin-kitten.com. And as the months go by, readership of the site continues to grow which makes everything worth while.

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has faithfully visited and told their friends about the site! Rippin-Kitten.com wouldn’t be what it is without you.

Can’t wait to see what you have in store for us in 2008! I find that sometimes an article from another blog will spark an idea in me to write about in my own blog. Sometimes I have an idea but don’t get to it soon enough and someone else will write about it first. I think it is because of the small motorcycling blogging community. Happy New Year!

It was interesting reading your post. I’ve since gave up my MC blog… I found that it was really hard for me to find new and interesting information to post about… and didn’t want it to seem that I was copying from other bloggers. I still write about my MC adventures… now I just keep them all together with my craft posts (so much easier to maintain one blog instead of two) ;)

Your blog is very unique and you’ve been an inspirations. I’m looking forward to reading your upcoming posts and congrats on your new job.

    Take care ~ Jovi

Both. I was about to post something about biker holiday decor and gifts when you did yours, so I decided not to. And sometimes I spot an idea that I want to use further down the line. Really, what makes each blog unique is the blogger, so I wouldn’t worry too much about overlapping information :)

I think there are lots of us riders out there. Its one reason why I just write about me. I know it may be self centered, but I started the blog to write about my life in the motorcycling world. So I just center on that. If someone writes the same/me write the same, its rich in opinion. I figure I am on the internet and anything goes as far as reading, readers, and riders. I know I am looking forward to your new year reads and rides. We all ride and read them differently :) Hope you had a great holiday!
